Piston rubber T-seal is mainly used in hydraulic cylinders or pneumatic cylinders to prevent media leakage between the piston and the cylinder barrel. This seal is designed as a double-acting seal and can fit into a standard O-ring groove (intermediate and wide bottom groove options are also available).
Design Features of T-Seal
- A double-acting seal design for reciprocating hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and high-pressure applications.
- Prevents rolling or spiraling even in long travel or dry rod conditions, the design allows the backup ring to lock the seal element as the piston or rod moves while maintaining the space-saving characteristics of the O-ring design.
- Because the piston rubber T-seal has backup rings on both sides of the sealing area, it performs very well in double-acting applications, can accommodate wider gaps, and can respond immediately to pressure surges and shocks.
- The T-Seal eliminates low-pressure leaks by compressing. When pressure is applied, a bridge is formed before extrusion occurs. The T-Seal's backup ring uses hydraulic pressure to maintain contact with the rod or cylinder wall, preventing extrusion from occurring.
